This week at home

AHHH.
These past few days have been pretty awesome.
I sat in waiting rooms like it was my J-O-B. That sounds boring, but it means I was knocking down appointments and getting things done.
I had to go to the dentist twice this week. That was not awesome.
We have been going to the same dentist since I was a kid. I've never seen another dentist. Maybe in passing or something, but never been in their office. Anyway, because our dentist is a nice guy, I'm not one who typically dreads the dentist. Boy, was I wrong. This time they flossed my teeth and by flossed my teeth, I mean made me bleed like my mouth has never bled before.
I do not floss. One day, maybe, I'll be on my death bed and say "If only I had flossed more!" but that's just tough cookies. I know, I know, it gets easier the more you do it, it's really good for you, you wouldn't bleed as much if you did it all the time. It's yucky, and time consuming, and I don't particularly enjoy bleeding from the mouth in the morning.
Then the dentist told me I had to come back because I had not one but two cavities. Dang it.

I was back there at 7 AM on Thursday. Yuck. They gave me Novocain, which I had never experienced before. 2 shots of that stuff in my gums and I was a whole different person. Or, at least that quadrant of my mouth was. It was kind of funny to me that I couldn't move that part of my face. Here are some of the least attractive photos of my to ever grace the Internet. My face was really swollen and flushed the rest of the day, but I'm not really having sensitivity to cold like he said I might.
I was trying to smile.

My best fishy face.
All the days have kind of blended together, but one day this week I had lunch with my dad at BWW which was a lot of fun. I like hanging out with him.
I had coffee with Chelsea one morning, had Storm & Michael over for pizza, got 1/2 price AZ tea with Kate from Walgreens, and loved on the doggie dog. Also, I got my hair did :)

It turned out GREAT. I was really happy with the color and the cut. The girl who cuts my hair was quicker than usual, which is how I prefer it.

I worked with Storm & Michael this summer at camp and they both had to leave a little early so they could get to school. Lucky for me, their campus is like 10 minutes from my house! We had pizza and my first ever attempt at homemade guacamole. Also, by homemade I mean I saw the packet at Jewel with directions on the back, grabbed 2 avocados and followed directions. It was really easy and really tasty.

I took Maxi for a walk this morning and this really sweet girl who was going for a walk loved him. But come on, who doesn't. That dog is adorable.
Yesterday, I went for a run on the treadmill while watching the women's soccer gold medal match on tv. We recorded it and while I know the results, I still like to watch the game. I yelled at the TV a LOT and sort of scared Max. Oops, sorry pup. I love the game! It's nice to know what you're talking about while yelling at sports. If I am intensely focused on a football or basketball, I usually can tell why people are yelling, the appropriate words to yell (Aw yeah! or Oh NO! Terrible call!) and so on. With soccer, I played long enough that I understand the terms, what needs to happen, who should be where, what a great move is and what isn't, etc.

Here are some photos of the women's soccer team because it feels weird to have a post with 4 photos of my face and no photos of anything else.

Of course, there's been packing going on this week like crazy. I'm not done (will I ever be?) and we leave for California pretty soon. Gotta find a good playlist!

I'm hoping to update from California, but you never know with unfamiliar wifi. Enjoy your weekend!
