Day one

A lot of day one was spent on a plane. I ate the cow poop chocolate treats in the airport. How funny :)
Our plane stopped Twice and let on new passengers but we were "flying through" to the final destination. I sat next to a 13 year old girl who switched between apps on her iPad faster than anyone I've ever seen. She was quiet and her mom, who we met at the gate, was super sweet. At our next stop, a very blonde, surfer dude sat next to me. We talked a lot of the flight and he is a Christian. We shared music taste and how life is, what's up next in life, and how his career in the movie biz is looking. What a sweet guy! Isn't it wonderful to find other Christians in random spots and chat with them? It's just another reminder that we, you and me, are not alone in our walk with the Lord.
The flight attendants were also very kind and told us that we should rent our car online before we get to the counter because it's cheaper. Great tip! So we used southwest.com and got a car booked.
Then after all the flying, we got to OAK and found our way to the counter. Boy, did that lady try to rip us off. Also, she said my mom's license was expired but in IL we do things differently. Something about a sticker because she didn't have any incidents with her license. You don't have to wait in line at the DMV, bing, bang, boom you're good to go. Ms Car Rental tried to sell us a ton of things and I know that's her job but I was proud of us for being smart ladies. Boom.
Our rental car is schweet: white Mustang. When we finally found the house, there were 3 super gross banana slugs waiting to greet us. Eww. But the yellow roses were also there to greet us- yay! It was like 1:30am our time when we finally got into bed with the airplane smell showered away.
That was day 1 but let me tell you, day 2 was way crazier! Get excited.
