My Room is a Mess, I Think I'll Blog Instead

On Friday, my university had a concert. Yeah!
The Brandon Grissom Band played at chapel on Friday and for the concert Friday night. They were delightful.

At the end of the show, Brandon was standing out in the lobby and Liz snapped a photo of him and me together.

Uh yeah, he's really tall and I'm not. He was very sweet and is from Elgin. Holla Chicago.

I took to reading the Chicago Tribune online today. These cornfields can't keep me interested much longer!! Also, a bunch of Caribou Coffee shops are closing in the Chicago area. Sad. The one by the train station in Libertyville gets a lot of business from the commuters, so hopefully that one doesn't close.

Also Jess took photos with him, but he was distracted so she told him to focus by doing that your eyes and it was really really funny.

After Brandon and his band, Sharon Irving came on stage to do some spoken word.

A few weeks back, I took Jess back home with me and we went to Willow Creek's church service with my mom. One of the women who was singing had these really unique earrings. So I'm at the concert on Friday and Jess goes "Is that the same lady from Willow Creek? I mean, how many people have those earrings?" and it was totally her. Wow. Super cool! Also, I never posted photos from that weekend. Shoot.

Way back before Spring Break, like uh around Valentine's Day, I took my friend Jess home with me for a weekend. YEAH! Here's some photos from our time.

OK, so this photo isn't at home. But I put this outfit together before I left and felt it was simply inspired. I wore it as we shopped and dropped on Saturday. I just watched Pitch Perfect for the first time, (thanks, Kayla!) and Anna Kendrick is wearing this sweater on the bus when they run out of gas. What's up- famous.

Maxi decided his love for Jessica was real. Super friends.
Mom left us roses on the beds for Valentine's Day. Aww
YES dinner at Tsukasa. And dad joined us because he didn't have to work until later!!

Essentially the best food on Earth.
Living room. I miss you.
UGH worst service ever. BOO!
Doggie.
Kate and Jess met aka my best friends from different worlds colliding.
Gray wool scarf from H&M
One of the most comfortable things ever.
My first pair of Vans!  I adore them.
Jess' church stuff for our time at Willow Creek
Mega church seems smaller when you sit closer
Their youth stage complete with creepy mannequin heads. Yikes.
A very cool set up
Red Robin for dinner

Ok, so back to this weekend. After Brandon came David Crowder. I'm going to attempt to post some videos. We'll see how that goes.

And now, grainy concert photos!

I'm using Vimeo for the first time to get these videos on the blog, so I'll update this post later to include the videos. This is video 1 and here is video 2. I'm a video loser. Sorry.

So that was the concert! Crowder's style has really changed. Much more bluegrass. Also, he sang "I'll Fly Away" and I about melted. It's a bummer when musical artists or whoever leads chapel etc. assumes that young adults don't want to hear the hymn and they've gotta do something contemporary to them if we sing the hymns. No, you don't have to update them. Yes, I do want to sing hymns. I love the rich tradition and theology behind them.

The rest of my weekend was spent writing papers and sitting at the table in the mallway for our Research Methods project. That thing is just... ugh. I'll be glad when it is over!

Our final staff list for camp was posted today. Praise Jesus! I'm so excited about this summer. YEAH Bible camp!

Oh boy what else. I think I'll make a separate post for Easter stuff. What's that you say- that post is late too? Well, I just posted photos from mid February. I have no shame in late blogging.

Thanks for reading readers. Ya'll are great.
