Errands

There are so many things to get done in these next few days. I wish I had the power of teleportation because
1. I would save the environment by not driving around
2. I would save a lot of time by not driving around
3. There would be not dismay over "oh shoot, I forgot to get blank!". You simply go back.
4. I could sleep a long time in my own bed instead of flying out to MT.

That's right, I leave very soon! I tried and failed to find a photo of our family trip to MT two years ago. Instead, I will post the first of many photos of my delightful dog, Maximus.
It's him when he was just a pupster! Now he is 6 (7?) but he is getting to the golden years. He was always golden, but you catch my drift.

Yesterday after the first post, I kept thinking of other things to say. My brain was chugging down the tracks but alas, I was far from my laptop. Now that I am here, I can not think of any. I will most assuredly remember them in a flood as soon as I get in the car today to run those errands!

Yesterday, I took my friend Kate C. (am I supposed to use first names? Initials? Who knows) to two parks she had never been to before. We got Chipotle (steak burritos, obvs) and iced coffee (which separately I love but together was just disgusting enough to work) and walked around. We also creeped on a local high school that has WAY more money than our high schools and took a lot of funny photos. I enjoy being amused in that way- it's cheap and produces laughable results.

Today is the second day in a row I am wearing a dress. Crazy!

This is just the beginning

Of course this is just the beginning. This is the first post! So much to say, explain, wonder about, and otherwise share with no one (yet!).

1. The first difficulty: Naming this blog. What the heck are you supposed to call something that is a log of your life, brain space, etc. It's ridiculously difficult. So where did I turn? My most played songs on iTunes (original, I know). I have been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since I was 7 or younger. They were my first concert and I will always be a fan. Yes, haters are going to proceed in hating, but I love them. A song from their 2007 album Unbreakable is called "Something That I Already Know". There have been songs that have meant more to me, but this title has never struck me in quite the same way that it did today. *Warning, major sharing about to occur* I have this idea that I do or should know everything, and this blog is about learning a ton of new things in the next season of my life. I hope that the name will be a reminder that I do not, in fact, know everything. And that's okay.

2. Getting a cool layout- Remember a second ago when I said that I feel like I should know everything? I quickly became frustrated when I couldn't get this super cool layout (that I found after comparing and searching through 20 pages of free layouts) to work. I still can't figure out how to get this cool one to work (I'll put the link [if I can do that] below so maybe you all with more talent than I can use it). Then I discovered this "use ours and edit the colors" thing in blogspot so I did. I love purple (can you tell?) and at many points I will likely go back and change it. Just looked at the preview, I definitely need to edit the colors!

3. I love random facts with a pretty significant portion of my heart and so you should be on the lookout for random facts about me. I am full of quirks and bound to make you laugh. One of my most famous lines for the game "never have I ever" (have you ever played that?) is that Random Fact #1: I have never used an electric can opener. That's right, when I need a can open I crank it. I think that it is silly not to have one because if you are in a situation where you can only eat canned food, it's possible your electricity will be out or your batteries will be powering something more important (light source, radio, etc).

4. I already wrote so much, but that's what you get when you wait longer than you should to start a blog. I have been mulling it over for a while now but wasn't sure how (see #2) or what I wanted it to be about like if I wanted it to be more personal, something for others to read (I know, it's the Internet so anyone can read it but I wasn't sure if I wanted it to have my name with it, for people who read it to know me), consistent blog of daily activities (after all, it is a web log- that's what blog means!) or anything else I might want it to be. But guess what, it's going to be what it is. It will change and it will likely not be consistent but I cannot tell you where this thing will go. That seemed prophetic, I hope that thousands of posts from now when I am an actual adult, I will go allllll the way back in my archive and find this thing and smile.

5. I am a grammar and spelling nerd so if you ever catch an error, comment on it and I will fix it. I'm pretty sure people can comment on posts! Gosh I can't wait until I am fluent in blogspot. Of course, stuff like the 2nd to last line of #4 with the many Ls was an intentional misspelling to show emphasis. Don't tell me about that stuff.  Random Fact #2: I was runner-up in my 4th grade spelling bee. I missed the word 'assignment'. I got really nervous about spelling the first 3 letters and then flubbed the 'gnm' part. Does any other word have that combo?

6. Happy Memorial Day. It feels weird to say "happy" when we are remembering those who have died in service for us and this country, but I think it's appropriate to celebrate their lives and the accomplishments of this nation's military.

7. Ok, that's everything I can think of right now. Wow, get used to all the parentheses, there are a bunch of them! Today is my sister's 1st wedding anniversary- I love you! Congrats!
